Educational policy

Most claims of Hungarians in Romania focus on education in general and public education in particular. In the past 25 years, however, only a couple strategies were developed, which were based on public policy analysis. Hungarian school principals were often left alone when implementing educational reforms, which on their turn in many cases had not been well thought out.

In education policy the Bálványos Institute plans to research in three fields of major importance:

  • the quality of education in Hungarian
  • the functioning of the Hungarian education system in Romania
  • linguistic landscape of schools
